Four In A Row

Seriously, is there anything more fun to watch than a Jewish guy rocketing a walk off bomb off the scoreboard in right center, followed by him gleefully running the bases and getting mobbed by his teammates at the plate? If there is, you must let me know.

Nice win for the Mets tonight. They got a bounce-back start from Sosa, fine relief work from the pen (including 2 excellent innings from Wagner and a solid 10th from Heilman - who was grunting like Martina Hingis out there).

On top of the key first game of the series victory, the Mets extended their winning streak to four and are also 1-0 on their way to Elster's 5-2 demand for the next seven.

Good start.

Yes, a European defenseman rocketing a walk off goal (can we stop using the term "walk off" please) in overtime of a second round playoff game and getting mobbed by his teammates on the ice.

  • Home plate celebrations are more fun than hockey on ice celebrations.

Though I will give you a benches clearnig brawl in hockey over its sister in baseball...

  • 1. Nice Gold Glove defense by your favorite 2B.

    2. How long can the Mets keep Scott Scoheneweis and Julio Franco on the roster? Are 23 players enough? Are you convinced yet that after a very nice career Julio is done? Still think Schoeneweis was a nice signing?

    3. What was Willie smoking in the 9th with all those crazy moves? He should have just let Gomez hit instead of having the Cards pitch around Ledee and then face Franco.

Willie looks good when he sits around looking clueless and the Mets are on a winning streak. You know we're in trouble when he starts acting like Bobby V.

Willie is just like Bobby V, just without the intelligence, personality and ability to articulate the English language.
